RDP stands for Recorder, Downloader Previewer. One of our
clients wanted a device that used a 5 mega pixel CMOS sensor to
encode MPEG4 video (VGA) and snapshots, record to SD storage,
and also transmit them wirelessly to a previously paired downloader
device.
The previewer is a standard off the shelf Nokia N800 that was able
to preview live video over the 802.11g wireless connection.

The DSP board, image right, uses a Ti Davinici DM355 SoC. It runs
Montavista Linux based on 2.6.10. Significant kernel modification as
well as application development was required.
The product runs a web server for configuration, and is capable of
streaming live video to an iPod client.
